Criminon volunteers made a significant impact at the American Correctional Association (ACA) conference held in Nashville, Tennessee, in August 2024. The event brought together correctional professionals from across the United States and around the world to discuss the latest trends, best practices, and challenges in the field of criminal rehabilitation.
The Criminon team distributed over 175 The Way to Happiness booklets, 21 information packets, and received requests for 87 resource kits from various correctional facilities, government agencies, and third-party vendors.
One of the most notable outcomes of the conference was the widespread international interest in Criminon’s successful strategies for criminal rehabilitation. Officials from Mexico, Guatemala, Indonesia, and Eswatini, Africa, expressed keen interest in the Criminon materials and their potential to address challenges within their correctional systems.
Several third-party vendors, including Wellpath and CoreCivic, which provide correctional services, also requested kits to incorporate into their programs.
The State of Hawaii, known for its diverse inmate population, requested eight kits to be distributed to their facilities. They also expressed a desire for kits in additional languages to serve a wider range of inmates.
Many attendees to the booth were surprised by the availability of the free resources offered by Criminon.
The Criminon volunteers’ participation in the ACA conference in Nashville showcased the global reach and potential impact of Criminon’s successful strategies for criminal reform. By reaching correctional officials from various countries and distributing valuable resources, they contributed to the ongoing efforts to improve rehabilitation and reintegration outcomes for inmates.
